Digital Conference on Industrial Technologies IndTech2020 | Virtual

Workshop 2 | Next Generation Materials Research: 100% Digital Mapping of Production and Processing

The digitalisation of materials is the next step towards a fully virtual mapping of industrial production. A unique way of representing materials, materials data, materials processing and the according devices allows for a deeper understanding and a precise manipulation of respective influences on the result or product. The session sums up the status quo of digital materials representations, current developments and future ideas as well as expected advantages for industry and research.

Speakers:
    1. Chris Eberl (Deputy Director Fraunhofer Institute for Mechanics of Materials (FhG IWM))
    2. Gerhard Goldbeck  (Executive Secretary Materials Modelling Council (EMMC))
    3. Bernhard von Vacano (Global Head Scouting and Incubation, Advanced Materials & Systems Research at BASF)
    4. Giovanni Pizzi (Theory and Simulation of Materials L'Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL))
