Workshop 8 | Bioinspired and Biointelligent Technologies
The necessary decoupling of consumption from fossil raw materials leads to the request for a circular economy. Circular economy is driven by material synthesis, processing, and production / manufacturing.
But circular economy is still too linear in thinking! In this session we will discuss how the integration of biological concepts into technical systems and even the interaction of biological and technical systems, supported by digital technologies, can improve their effectiveness and facilitate the smooth, sustainable integration of our technosphere in the biosphere.
Speakers:
- Lorenz Mayr (Guest Professor at ETH Zürich & Enterprenuer in Residence at Syncona Investment Management Limited )
- Jerome Casas (Professor at the Institute of Research on Insect Biology, University of Tours (IRBI))
- Eric Maiser (Head of VDMA Competence Center Future Business )
- Gerald BYRNE (Professor of Mechanical Engineering University College Dublin & International Partnerships Manager at I-Form)
